  • COVID GUIDANCE UPDATE

    Tue 05 Apr 2022

The following information has been issued to school regarding Covid guidance from the 1st of April 2022.

    • adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature
    • children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend
    • adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days
    • regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting, including in SEND, alternative provision and children’s social care settings. Therefore, settings will no longer be able to order test kits

Please do not send your child into school if they have a high temperature or feel unwell. Please remember Lanterns Nursery School policy states that children should stay at home for 48 hours following a high temperature.

  • Update from Lanterns Nursery Team

    Tue 02 Nov 2021

    Dear All,

What a busy half term it has been.

We have really enjoyed having so many children in nursery again, it has been lovely to see parents outside and in the garden area and to be able to say 'hello'.

Please make sure that you access your Tapestry account to see entries and photos of the fantastic learning experiences that your child has had the opportunity to engage in. Make sure that you click the 'like' button or even share a comment so that we know you have seen the entries.

Now that the weather is becoming wetter and colder, please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat, waterproof trousers, or an all in one and a pair of wellies. These items need to be named and put in a named bag (no plastic please, PE bag style or material bag, would be great) so that they are easily accessible by the children. If you do not have waterproof trousers or a bag, please let us know. We will be sending wellies and waterproofs home for half term so that you can return them named and in a bag after half term.

It is really important to help children to become independent especially in their self-help skills, such as, dressing and undressing. Please encourage your child to put their coat, waterproof and wellies on themselves by giving lots of encouragement, allowing extra time and offering assistance once they have had a go themselves.

You will now get Parentmail through our website provider these will be sent from – notifications@primarysite.net Please make sure that you are getting these emails as this is how we will communicate important information.

Remember that Monday 2nd November is an INSET day and nursery will be closed. We look forward to seeing you all again on or after Tuesday 3rd September. In the meantime, enjoy the additional time with your families, have fun and make memories.

    Friends Of Lanterns

First of all thank you to all the families who joined us for Garden time and Farm day over half term we were so lucky with the weather.

We have two asks to help us support the Nursery School

    Firstly “Save the fish!!”

We have a £1,000 per annum bill to keep the aquarium in reception in good order. This is a large amount of money out of a continually decreasing school budget .

Children love the fish and it is often a way to encourage them into the building and they will remember the fish at Lanterns for years to come.

So…how about stepping up to sponsor a fish? The children can chose the fish they wish to sponsor and even give t a name .

Any donation will be gratefully received .You can transfer the money directly into the Friends of Lanterns account.(details from reception )or use Lanterns Local Giving and use the Donate button. Thank you

    Xmas Raffle

I am looking for a parent or two to set up a Family Friendly Raffle for Christmas to be part of our Xmas Fair on the 8th December. Last year we raised over £300 on the raffle which included Panto tickets, soft play entry, massage and many more.  We like this sort of raffle and in times of Covid it is better than a raffle of items .

If you feel you can help with this please contact Kathy East on 07928050948 or leave a message with reception.

If you have any stall ideas for the Fair please let me know

Thanks as always for all your generosity !

    Best Wishes

    Kathy East
